Former presidential candidate and media mogul, Dele Momodu, has cautioned that unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections will require an intense and strategic political battle, likening the upcoming contest to a World Cup final.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Momodu emphasized the formidable alliance between President Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, noting that their combined political weight will make the 2027 election one of the fiercest in Nigeria’s history.

“Tinubu, who is already president — even when he was not president, we faced a lot of fire,” Momodu said. “Now, when you have Tinubu and Wike on one side, it means you have to be battle-ready. You must assemble all your weapons and prepare for the battle ahead, because 2027 is going to be like the World Cup, and you’ll need your best players.”

The statement underscores the growing political tension and anticipation surrounding the 2027 presidential race, as opposition parties begin to assess the strength of the incumbent administration and the strategic alliances it is forging ahead of the polls.
