Nigeria on Monday, January 25, 2021, reported 1,430 new cases of the novel coronavirus, according to the nation’s disease control agency.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) also said three more COVID-19 deaths had occurred.
Trailing Lagos, the nation’s epicenter of the virus, Plateau state recorded 100 new cases.
The middle-belt state is now the third worst-hit state in the country with a combined caseload of 7,622 cases and 53 deaths.
To date, 122,996 cases have been confirmed across the country since last February; 98,359 of those cases have been discharged while 1,507 persons have died.
The breakdown of Monday’s new cases is as follows: Lagos (744), Plateau (100), Oyo (77), FCT (75), Nasarawa (74), Katsina (48), Edo (42), Kano (41), Enugu (37), Rivers (34), Ogun (33), Kwara (32), Niger (28), Ebonyi (27), Kaduna (26), Borno (12), Yobe (10), Ekiti (5), and Gombe (1).
