The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday August 10, 2021 announced six hundred and ten (610) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
The virus also claimed two (2) lives on Tuesday.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.
“Two states with zero cases reported: Kaduna and Sokoto,” NCDC said.
Lagos – 281, Rivers – 152, Akwa-Ibom – 85, Ogun-21, Oyo-21, Ekiti-14, FCT-13, Delta-7, Edo-6, Ondo-4, Bayelsa-2, Kano-2, Plateau-2.
As of Tuesday August 10, there are 10,793 active cases in Nigeria.
