Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has expressed his desire for a committed, long-term relationship, stating that he is weary of fleeting romantic connections.
Speaking in a recent interview with TVC, the movie star attributed the increasing instability in modern relationships to the influence of online relationship coaches, who, he believes, contribute to unrealistic expectations.
“Sometimes, it does get lonely. Because you’ve got everything and obviously, you’ve understood the power of the energy that’s surrounding your space, so you’re not just going to let any and anybody in,” Egbuson said.
He lamented the trend of temporary relationships, where individuals form connections only to part ways soon after.
“I am personally tired of temporary connections—when you meet somebody, and after getting to know them, they leave. It gets tiring,” he stated.
Egbuson also criticized the impact of social media on relationships, noting that many people rely on online advice to make critical decisions about their personal lives.
“People are quick to leave relationships because we are in a woke generation now where there’s a lot of misinformation on how a perfect relationship should be. Maybe your man is treating you right, then you go on TikTok and see something like, ‘Seven Signs He Is Not Your Man,’ and if it resonates with your reality a bit, you dump your relationship,” he explained.
The award-winning actor’s remarks highlight a growing concern about the role of social media in shaping relationship dynamics, particularly among younger generations.
