Tems Wins Best African Music Performance at 67th Grammy Awards

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has won the prestigious Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. She claimed the award for her hit single Love Me JeJe, overcoming strong competition from Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Asake featuring Wizkid’s MMS, Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay’s Sensational, and Burna Boy’s Higher.

This marks Tems’ second Grammy win. In addition to her victory, she received three nominations at this year’s ceremony, bringing her total career nominations to eight. Tems was also nominated for Best Global Music Album with Born in the Wild, and Best R&B Song for Burning.

South African artist Tyla secured the Best African Music Performance award at the previous year’s ceremony with her hit Water.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Other Nigerian nominees at this year’s Grammys included:
