Primeboy Sues Mohbad’s Mother for N50M Over Alleged Defamation

Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, has filed a N50 million defamation lawsuit against Abosede Aloba, the mother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad).

Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. His body was later exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy as investigations into his death continued.

The legal battle stems from a video interview Abosede granted on March 28, 2024, where she allegedly claimed Primeboy had an altercation with Mohbad before his death. In October 2024, Primeboy threatened legal action, calling her statements “libelous, injurious, and malicious.”

In a writ of summons, the singer’s friend is demanding N50 million in exemplary damages, accusing Abosede of tarnishing his reputation through false claims widely circulated in the media.

“You are hereby commanded that within 42 days after the service of this writ, you cause an appearance to be entered for you in an action at the suit of the Claimant,” the legal notice reads, warning that failure to respond could lead to the case proceeding without her.
