Mercy Aigbe appreciates fans, colleagues for overwhelming support following fire incident

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Mercy Aigbe has thanked her fans and colleagues for their support after her house was destroyed by fire.

Mercy Aigbe announced the incident on Instagram on Wednesday, December 4 and uploaded a video of the devastation caused by the inferno.

She captioned it, “Devastated! Thank God no life was lost! It is well.”

Industry colleagues such as Iyabo Ojo, Adeniyi Johnson, Faithia Williams, Blessing Obasi, Uzee Usman, Toyin Abraham, and Odunlade Adekola responded with prayers and encouraging words.

Surprisingly, some netizens teased the actress, calling it karma, among other things.

Mercy Aigbe dismissed the criticism in an update on Thursday, expressing gratitude for the messages, prayers, and offers of assistance she received. She admitted that her phone had been overwhelmed with calls and texts, and she characterized the love bestowed upon her as overwhelming.

The mother of two wrote: “I feel so blessed, surrounded with so much love! People asking for my account details, my phone buzzing non-stop, prayers, comments, posts—omg, I am so so overwhelmed with all the love shown me especially at this time.

“Big thank you to everyone who reached out, thank you for your calls, prayers, words of encouragement, support, DMs—it means a lot to me.

“My heart is filled with joy, gratitude, and appreciation. Eseun Modupe!!!! God will continue to come through for each and every one of you, keep y’all and your household from evil, and multiply you in measures you can’t imagine. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.”
