Kim Kardashian And Jennifer Lopez Join Threads App as it Crosses 10m Users

Since its launch on Wednesday, Threads has racked up tens of millions of members, including famous people like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez.

As a result of Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, making a series of erratic decisions, Threads attempted to profit from Twitter’s significantly diminished position.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat, and other well-known politicians have also downloaded the app.

“Let’s proceed. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, posted his first message on the app with the words “Welcome to Threads” and a fire emoji.

According to Zuckerberg, the app received 10 million sign-ups in just seven hours.

He further moved to Twitter, sharing a well-known meme of Spiderman facing off against Spiderman — in a satirical jest at the rivalry with Musk and between the two services.

Analysts have claimed that Threads’ ties to Instagram might provide it with a built-in user base and advertising machinery, adding that this might steal ad dollars from Twitter at a time when its new CEO is seeking to revitalize its struggling business.

Although Threads is a stand-alone app, users can log in using their Instagram credentials and follow the same accounts, potentially making it simple for Instagram’s more than 2 billion monthly active users to incorporate it into their routines.

Investors can’t help but be a little excited about the possibility that Meta has a “Twitter-Killer,” according to Danni Hewson, head of financial analysis at the investment firm AJ Bell.

Others viewed the introduction of Threads as a chance to develop a Twitter alternative that is less nasty.

“May this platform have good vibes, a strong community, excellent humor, and less harassment,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in her post.

The software is similar to Twitter in that it allows users to like, re-post, and reply to short text posts, but it does not include direct messaging.

According to a post on Metablog, posts may contain up to 500 characters as well as links, images, and videos that are up to five minutes long.

According to the blog post, Threads is on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in over 100 countries.
