Nigerian comedian and Nollywood actor Bovi Ugboma has shared how his son, Chuchu, overcame a habit of breaking televisions out of anger and learned to manage his emotions.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by Nedu and others, Bovi opened up about his parenting journey. While supporting gentle parenting and opposing physical discipline, he revealed that his approach was tested by his son’s tantrums.
“My son Chuchu used to break televisions whenever he got angry,” Bovi recounted. “He has broken three TVs. But as he grew, he began to show remorse and stopped the behavior. Thank God I could afford replacements; otherwise, the approach might have been different.”
Bovi highlighted the importance of patience and allowing children to learn and grow without resorting to physical punishment.
