In a heartfelt Instagram plea, Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has called on Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy to intervene in the case of singer Speed Darlington, who has been in police custody since November 27, 2024. Darlington, who was arrested over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking related to his statements about Burna Boy, remains detained despite reportedly being granted bail by the Federal High Court on December 23, 2024.
Bobrisky, known for his candid social media presence, expressed concern over the harsh conditions Darlington may face in detention. The controversial figure highlighted that Darlington might struggle to afford the high cost of securing a VIP cell, which he described as “expensive” and out of reach for the artist.
“I just wanna mind my business this year and stay away from anything that connects with Nigerian celebrities,” Bobrisky wrote. “But my soft heart won’t stop me from thinking of many things. Please, Burna Boy, forgive Speed. Prison is not a nice place, and I don’t think he has the money for the VIP section. Please.”
The appeal has sparked public interest, as fans continue to follow the unfolding legal saga involving Darlington and the famed Nigerian musician.
