Internet scam: EFCC arrests four suspects in Benue

Operatives from the Makurdi Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested four suspects for internet fraud.

The EFCC revealed this arrest in a statement on Monday, titled ‘Four suspected internet fraudsters arrested in Benue’.

The statement revealed that the suspects were arrested on Tuesday at a popular hotel in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

“The Makurdi Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday May 18, 2021 arrested four suspected fraudsters at a popular Hotel in Makurdi, Benue State,” the statement read.

The suspects which are Igba Simon, Edigbo Fredrick, Sunday Nazarethe and one other “were rounded up by operatives of the Commission sequel to credible intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.”

“At the point of arrest, Simon Igba was in possession of a Toyota Corolla car recently acquired and an iPhone X.

“More iPhones, Macbook Air and Modems, were among items recovered from the remaining suspects,” the statement revealed.

According to the statement, the suspects will soon be charged to court.
