FG-Probes-Private-VarsitiesThe Federal Government has successfully returned approximately four million out-of-school children to classrooms within the past year.

This was announced by the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, alongside his colleague, Minister Yusuf Tanko Sununu, during a media briefing highlighting their achievements in Nigeria’s education sector over the last year.

Professor Mamman explained that the ministry focused on the basic education sector through the implementation of the DOTS Policy. This policy emphasizes areas such as Data Repository, Out-of-School Education, Teacher Training and Development, Skills Acquisition, and various other development programs.

He attributed the progress to strategic measures taken to tackle the learning crisis they encountered upon taking office. Key initiatives included revamping and strengthening Safe School standards, establishing a rapid response team for security, installing CCTV cameras, increasing school fence heights, and educating communities on security practices.

Professor Mamman also revealed that around 25,000 Nigerians possess fake degree certificates from universities in Benin Republic and Togo. He warned that the government would ensure individuals found with such fraudulent certificates would face the full extent of the law.
