Gerald Kamanga Gichohi, a pastor at Victory Centre in Wamunyiri village, Bungoma town, Kenya, is accused of murdering and dumping his wife, Margaret Wanjiku Kamanga, in a ditch near their home.
According to Bungoma County Police Commander Francis Kooli, who confirmed the occurrence on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, the culprit texted his younger brother to inform him of his crime.
The text message describes the suspect’s crimes and plans to commit suicide. “We received a report from the suspect’s brother around 22.35 hours that he had received a suicidal text message from his elder brother. The message also contained information about his wife’s murder,” Kooli explained.
According to the suspect’s communication, he requested his brother not to tell his kid about his mother’s death until he finished his examinations. In the narrative, he also instructed his brother to sell some land and care for his kid when his mother was buried.
The defendant allegedly travelled to Nyandurua County, where he attempted suicide before being saved and apprehended by authorities. He is currently being treated in a hospital.
“The suspect is being monitored before being taken into custody to answer for murder charges,” Kooli stated. The body of the deceased was sent to the mortuary pending autopsy.
