The 73-year-old Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actor Charly Boy issued an appeal to ‘extraordinary’ youths in Nigeria to overthrow the country on Twitter on Monday.
The fervent Peter Obi supporter drew his cue from the violence in France, where there had been days of rioting after a police officer killed a 17-year-old teenager.
Now, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, wants the same response in Nigeria.
He omitted to explain why the violence should be justified. But it is safe to assume that he is one of the Peter Obi supporters still miffed about Obi’s crushing defeat in the election.
“This isn’t Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan. This is France where 9% of the population has brought down entire cities!” he said in reference to the raging arson in parts of Paris, a picture of which he shared.
“Karma from Africa? Am waiting on the exceptional Nigerian Youths to reject a system that let dem down. Una destiny dey una hand.”
In his earlier post before editing it, the musician called Nigeria a Criminal enterprise and urged Nigerian youths to bring it down.
