17-Year-Old-Buries-Brother-Alive-Over-N1000-Theft

Goodness Oshodi, 17, was arrested by the Kogi State Police Command for reportedly burying his younger brother, Friday Oshodi, alive in Kogi State. This alleged event occurred on Tuesday in Apamisede, a Lokoja neighborhood.

Friday was claimed to have stolen N1,000, prompting his elder brother to punish him in accordance with their mother’s wishes.

According to locals, Friday has a reputation in the neighborhood for stealing, and his mother ordered his elder brother, Goodness, to punish him. They did, however, reveal that rather than punishing Friday, who is alleged to be his stepbrother, Goodness led him to a nearby bush and buried him alive.

Friday was fortunate to be alive since Goodness was apprehended in the horrible crime by some vigilante members in the region who exhumed his body alive and reported the matter to the police.

SP. William Ovie Aya, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident and Goodness’ arrest on Wednesday afternoon. He stated that Goodness had been arrested and that an investigation into the issue had begun.

He said, “The suspect has been arrested and taken into custody. The victim is seven years old. Information at our disposal revealed that the victim used to steal. When he stole money, he ran away from the house, but later came back.

“When he came back, he stole another money again. So, the mother instructed his elder brother who is a 17-year-old boy to punish him. So, the brother went ahead to dig the ground to punish him. So, they just want to deal with him, before some nearby neighbors discovered what was happening and rescued him.”
