In a move that reflects intensifying competition in Nigeria’s domestic fuel market, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction in the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, from ₦835 to ₦825 per litre.
This marks the second price cut in just over a month by the 650,000 barrels per day facility, which had previously lowered the price from ₦865 to ₦835 in April.
Sources close to the refinery disclosed that the latest adjustment is aimed at offering greater value to customers and strengthening Dangote’s competitive edge as the dominant player in Nigeria’s emerging private downstream sector.
The move is expected to impact local pump prices and could potentially influence other marketers in the ongoing price war within the sector.
