The Federal Government has inaugurated the Nigeria-Korea Information Access Centre (IAC) in Abuja, a cutting-edge digital hub aimed at job creation, economic growth, and technological advancement. Funded by the Korean government, the centre is expected to enhance Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and drive innovation.

Commissioning the facility, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, emphasized its role in strengthening the economy as President Bola Tinubu’s administration works towards a $1 trillion GDP target.

“As a nation, we recognize ICT as a key driver of economic prosperity and empowerment. Significant investments in digital infrastructure will enhance service delivery and create opportunities for Nigerians,” Tijani stated.

Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, highlighted the centre’s impact, saying it will equip youth, entrepreneurs, and professionals with access to cutting-edge digital tools, research facilities, and training in AI, Big Data, and IoT.

DBI President/CEO, Mr. David Dasser, described the centre as “a bridge connecting Nigeria to the world,” aligning with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) to foster digital inclusion and prepare the workforce for the global tech landscape.

The Nigeria-Korea IAC underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for socioeconomic transformation, positioning Nigeria as a hub for digital innovation in Africa.
