Dangote Warns Truckers: Stop Misusing Our Logo or Face Legal Action

Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has once again issued a stern warning to truck operators against the unauthorized use of its logo, describing the practice as damaging to its reputation and a source of repeated embarrassment to the brand.

In a statement, the company lamented that despite earlier warnings, some independent truck operators — with no affiliation to Dangote — continue to brand their vehicles with its logo, often for personal or undisclosed reasons.

According to the company, some of these vehicles have been involved in accidents and other incidents that were wrongly attributed to Dangote, thereby misleading the public.

“We have repeatedly cautioned truckers to refrain from using our logo on unauthorised vehicles. Moving forward, we will increase vigilance and take decisive legal action against misuse of our brand identity, particularly concerning vehicles unaffiliated with the Dangote Group,” the company said.

Dangote disclosed plans to intensify monitoring in collaboration with security agencies and law enforcement authorities to clamp down on violators.

The company also raised concerns about the growing spread of misinformation linking its trucks to accidents, warning the public and the media to verify facts before drawing conclusions.

It appealed to Nigerians not to fall for individuals who exploit tragedies to malign its brand or pursue selfish financial gains.
