Mr. Mohammed Umar is now the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Umar has been directed by President Bola Tinubu to take over the affairs of the commission.
Mohammed was acting chairman of the commission after the suspension of former chairman Ibrahim Magu
On Wednesday evening, President Tinubu suspends the EFCC Chairman indefinitely following what is described as weighty allegations of abuse of office.
Hours to his suspension, Bawa had a meeting with the President today at the State House.

This was announced in a statement by Willie Bassey, Director, Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
