BREAKING: Markets, parks shut as Nkanu people rally for 2023 Enugu guber seat

Major markets and motor parks in Enugu metropolis were on Thursday shut following the rally held by the people of Nkanu otherwise known as the Enugu East Senatorial District.

The markets shut included, Ogbete, Kenyatta, Abakpa Market, Mayor, Gariki, New Market, Old Artisan as well as all the major public parks within the Enugu State capital.

The rally, tagged Enugu East Senatorial District Rally 2021, was held at the popular Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, was sponsored by Nkanu Ebuka.

The event, saw leaders, stakeholders and indigenes led by the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Southeast and former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani and former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, Augustine Nnamani, and his APC counterpart, Ben Nwoye, political, religious and traditional leaders from the zone.

The rally, which had the state governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the chief guest of honour, was meant to make a bold statement and appeal to the governor to use his position to help the people of Nkanu secure the 2023 governorship position in Enugu State.
