The remains of Senator Buruju Kashamu, have been buried at his Ijebu-Igbo country home where he was buried at around 12:55 pm on Sunday.
Nelsdaily.com had earlier reported that Buruji had died of COVID-19 complications on Saturday, August 8, 2020.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, was part of the crowd that bid the politician a tearful farewell.
The use of face masks and the social distancing rule advised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to curb the spread of coronavirus were breached in Ogun state during the burial rites of the late senator and businessman, Buruji Kashamu.
Sympathisers shunned COVID-19 protocols during the burial with many of them struggling to have a good view of the funeral activities.
Among his many positions and achievements, Mr Kashamu was also the founder of Western Lotto Limited, one of Nigeria’s lottery operators.
