The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over a meeting of the security council.
The meeting, which is holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, also has Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo in attendance.
All service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police are attending the meeting.
Others in attendance are the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Heads of the Department of State Services and National Intelligence Agency; Ministers of Justice, Police Affairs, Defence and Interior among others.
This meeting is coming a day after the Nigeria Governors Forum, (NGF) decried what it called the nation’s worsening security situation.
However, the governors resolved to meet with the President and the service chiefs separately on the matter.
