The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has announced a planned electricity outage in several parts of Abuja scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, following a request by the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA.
In a notice shared on its verified X account on Friday, the distribution company said the temporary disruption would affect areas including Lugbe, Airport Road, Gaduwa and surrounding communities.
AEDC explained that the outage is necessary to enable the relocation of critical power infrastructure linked to the 33KV feeders H21 and H23, as well as the 11KV feeder H1A situated within the Gaduwa District.
According to the company, the exercise forms part of ongoing road construction projects being carried out in the public interest.
The electricity distributor further stated that power supply to the affected areas would remain interrupted throughout the duration of the relocation work.
“Supply will be restored upon completion of the exercise.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding,” the company said.
