Former Beşiktaş midfielder Sinan Engin has heaped praise on Victor Osimhen, describing the Nigerian forward as a unique talent whose physical attributes and influence on the pitch set him apart from most players.
Speaking during an appearance on the Asist Analiz YouTube channel, Engin expressed admiration for the striker, who currently plays for Galatasaray. According to reports from Turkish outlet Habersarikirmizi, the former midfielder said Osimhen’s athletic ability borders on the extraordinary.
“Galatasaray possesses an extraordinary player; Victor Osimhen. When you look at his genetics, he almost transcends the human norm,” Engin said.
The Turkish pundit further highlighted the striker’s strength and dominance on the field, jokingly wondering about the source of the forward’s immense power.
“What does this guy even eat? Honestly, he must be feasting on lions. Osimhen has turned into a lion on the pitch. Even Mauro Icardi has been overshadowed,” he added.
Osimhen’s impact was evident during Galatasaray’s 1–0 victory in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round-of-16 clash. The Nigerian forward played a key role in the decisive moment early in the match.
In the seventh minute, Osimhen rose highest to meet a corner kick, powering a header toward goal. Midfielder Mario Lemina redirected the effort into the net, giving Galatasaray a crucial early lead.
The hosts went on to withstand sustained pressure from Liverpool F.C., with Osimhen’s relentless energy, strength, and presence setting the tone throughout the encounter.
For Engin, the performance only reinforced his belief that Osimhen is a rare talent capable of influencing games almost single-handedly.
