Hadiza El-Rufai Slams ICPC: ‘Those Are My Bank Tokens, Not Wiretaps’

0

Wife of former Kaduna State governor, Hadiza El-Rufai, has dismissed claims by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) that phone-tapping devices were recovered from her Abuja residence.

In a post on X, Hadiza stated that ICPC also seized her bank tokens and insisted they are not wiretapping equipment.

“@icpcnigeria You forgot to mention that you also took away my bank tokens. I swear to God, they are not wiretapping equipment,” she wrote.

Her son, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, earlier accused the ICPC of turning the investigation into a “smear campaign” against his father, describing the commission’s actions as a “circus of chicanery.”

He expressed concern over what he called the misuse of statutory authority against his father, emphasizing the right to remain silent under the constitution.
