Former presidential aide Lauretta Onochie has accused former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai of multiple infractions as scrutiny surrounding him intensifies.
In a post shared on X, Onochie alleged that El-Rufai bribed security officials to prevent his arrest at the Abuja International Airport while returning from Egypt. She claimed that some officers had been arrested in connection with the alleged bribery.
Onochie also referenced reports of phone-tapping equipment allegedly discovered at the former governor’s residence, describing it as another troubling development.
Additionally, she accused the former governor of misappropriating Kaduna State funds during his tenure, stating that the allegations against him continue to mount.
The remarks come amid reported investigations involving the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from El-Rufai regarding the latest claims.
Efforts to obtain comments from his representatives were unsuccessful.
