Multiple explosions were reported across Iran’s capital, Tehran, following what officials described as a coordinated military operation involving Israel and the United States.

According to Al Jazeera, a U.S. official confirmed that the strikes were conducted jointly by Israeli and American forces. Iranian state-affiliated Fars News Agency reported that several missiles struck University Street and the Jomhouri area in central Tehran, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air.

Semiofficial Tasnim News Agency also confirmed additional explosions in the northern Seyyed Khandan district. Other local media outlets indicated that strikes were recorded in parts of the country beyond the capital, including Ilam province in western Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the operation, stating that it was aimed at neutralizing what he described as imminent threats posed by the Iranian government.

“A short time ago, the U.S. military began a major combat operation in Iran,” Trump said. “Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime.”

Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, also addressed the strikes, stating that the missile attacks were launched to remove threats against the State of Israel.

As of the time of filing this report, Iranian authorities have not released an official statement detailing casualties or the extent of the damage. The situation remains fluid, with tensions in the region escalating sharply.
