ADC Youth Leader Alleges Political Motive in EFCC Actions Against Malami, El-Rufai

Hajiya Hassana Shuaibu Dada, Assistant National Youth Leader (North Central) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticised what she described as politically motivated and selective prosecutions allegedly targeting former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Dada accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of pursuing actions she claimed were aimed at undermining the ADC due to its growing political influence.

According to her, the alleged prosecutions are part of a broader strategy to weaken opposition figures within the party.

“The selective prosecutions of our leaders, Hon. Abubakar Malami and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, through the EFCC are clearly politically motivated efforts to weaken the ADC because we represent a real alternative to the ruling party,” Dada said.

She expressed solidarity with the affected leaders and party members nationwide, maintaining that such actions would not deter the ADC’s activities.

“These efforts will not intimidate us; instead, they will only strengthen our unity and resolve,” she added.

Dada reaffirmed the party’s commitment to justice, inclusion and national development, while calling on Nigerians to remain vigilant and support the ADC as a viable platform for governance and reform.
