A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has expressed confidence that the party will retain control of the state in the 2027 general elections, pledging continuity in governance and reforms in the transport sector.

Ajadi made the declaration on Thursday while addressing transport unions operating under the Park Management System (PMS) at their headquarters in New Garage, Ibadan.

Speaking to park managers and commercial drivers, the PDP chieftain urged them to sustain the peace and unity currently existing within their ranks, warning against actions that could create division.

“My advice to the park managers and commercial drivers in Oyo State is that they should continue in love and peaceful conduct. They should remain united and not allow anyone to divide them,” he said.

He assured the gathering that the PDP would emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election.

“Don’t let anybody deceive you; remain steadfast. I assure you that our party, the PDP, will produce the next governor in 2027,” Ajadi stated.

According to him, the visit to the PMS headquarters formed part of ongoing consultations with key stakeholders across the state, particularly transport operators, to formally notify them of his intention to contest the 2027 governorship race.

“Today, I joined the park managers in Oyo State to familiarise with them and inform them of my intention to serve the people of Oyo State as the next governor by the grace of God,” he added.

Outlining his plans for the transport sector, Ajadi disclosed that his administration, if elected, would collaborate with the Park Management System to improve the aesthetics and standards of city taxi services.

He also pledged to expand the mass transit scheme to cover more parts of the state, ensuring wider access and improved mobility for residents. The scheme, he noted, would operate in partnership with park managers to enhance efficiency and inclusiveness.

Ajadi commended Governor Seyi Makinde for establishing new bus terminals across the state, promising to ensure their optimal utilisation if elected.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with transport stakeholders to promote unity, peace, and sustainable development in the sector and across Oyo State.
