Former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Matters, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has cautioned that a second term for the president could be disastrous for Nigeria.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Political Paradigm, Baba-Ahmed said he has seen no improvement in the nation’s record since resigning from his advisory role. Instead, he observed a deterioration in key areas, particularly security and living conditions.
“Our nation has been a lot more insecure now than I left. What I see at home and on the street when people speak, the level of desperation and poverty is most pronounced, especially in the Northern part of the country,” he stated.
Baba-Ahmed also criticized Tinubu’s approach to political alliances, arguing that surrounding himself with politicians to secure a second term reflects poor strategic thinking.
“I’m sorry to say that I think President Tinubu will make the worst president if he returns to power in 2027,” he concluded.
