Abuja — Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, the lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has publicly reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that he will not act against the party’s interests despite political differences involving his father.
Bello, son of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, made the statement in a post on his verified X handle while responding to a social media user who accused him of aligning with his father, now a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In his response, the lawmaker emphasized that while he holds deep respect for both his father and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his loyalty to the APC remains firm.
“I love my father. I respect Asiwaju. I will never do anything against my party’s interest as long as I am a member. But I will never compromise my principles,” he wrote.
Bello further stated that his political and moral accountability rests with God and his constituents in Kaduna North.
“After all, God is bigger than PMB, Asiwaju, Mallam, and Buhari, and it is God and Kaduna North who will judge me,” he added.
The federal lawmaker also referenced the oath of office he took upon assuming his mandate, stressing that it was sworn on the Qur’an, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the APC Constitution.
His comments come amid shifting political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with observers closely watching developments involving key political figures and their affiliations.
