Atiku Warns Against Infighting, Urges Opposition Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

0

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on supporters to avoid attacking Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi or himself, warning that such internal conflicts threaten opposition cohesion and Nigeria’s democratic progress.

In a post on his X account, Atiku said those who insult either Obi or him “do not have the best interests of the leaders, the coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), or the country at heart.”

He emphasized that internal divisions only benefit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which he accused of exploiting discord within the opposition. “The only persons who benefit from such a civil war are the APC urban bandits who want to maintain the satanic status quo,” Atiku wrote.

Highlighting the importance of solidarity among opposition figures and their supporters, he concluded: “We are better together,” renewing his call for unity ahead of future political engagements.
