Tinubu Meets Six APC Governors in Surprise Aso Rock Parley

0

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with six governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which lasted less than an hour, took place inside the President’s office. While no details were released, the agenda remained undisclosed as of press time.

Those in attendance were Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, Sokoto State Governor Aliyu Sokoto, and Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris.

Although the Presidency has yet to offer any explanation, the parley comes at a time the country is grappling with rising security concerns across several regions. It also aligns with ongoing political consultations and nationwide preparations ahead of key APC and government activities.

Attempts by journalists to get comments from the governors after the meeting were unsuccessful, as they all declined to speak.
