Kano State leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The endorsement came at the end of a three-day stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of former APC National Chairman and Kano party leader, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. The gathering drew representatives from all 44 local government areas and 484 wards across the state.
Speaking after the meeting, Umar Idris Shuaibu, a prominent APC figure in Kano, described the event as a strategic show of unity and readiness ahead of the next electoral cycle. He commended Ganduje for strengthening party structures and sustaining grassroots mobilisation.
“Kano stands firmly behind Tinubu. Dr. Ganduje has ensured the APC remains disciplined, cohesive, and fully mobilised,” Shuaibu said.
Stakeholders resolved to maintain active coordination across all wards, reinforce party offices, and intensify preparations for upcoming elections. Ganduje also reportedly directed that all local government and ward offices stay operational to accommodate expected defections from opposition parties.
