Gov Election 2023: Live up to expectations, Jandor charges security agencies

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran also known as Jandor has called on security agencies to live up to expectations in the ongoing governorship and state assembly elections.

Jandor, who made this call after casting his vote around 11am this morning in Lagos, lamented what he described as widespread of violence, harassment and intimidation of voters.

In spite of his lamentations on insecurity and voter intimidation in various parts of the state, Jandor expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious at the end of the voting exercise.

“We are getting reports from everywhere and we have seen widespread violence, voter intimidation which we expected anyway. We call on the security agencies to live up to expectations. We are confident, we will win the entire 245 wards, so we are very optimistic we will win this election,” he said.

On whether he will congratulate the winner if he loses the election at the end of the day, Jandor said the election is a process and he will follow the process.

The PDP candidate is vying to dislodge the incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is recontesting under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC). He also has the candidate of the Labour Party Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and other contenders to fend off in order to emerge governor of Lagos State.
